Before you share or hit post, we’ve got a few quick tips:

This whole process should always be on your own terms. So, share your post only when you’re ready and with the people you’re comfortable telling.

This can be an emotionally draining process. You want a few people you can rely on to support your post — and you.

*Not sure if you have someone like that? Meet new friends through LGBTQ+ online communities
(see resources our resources below).

You can turn off commenting or just filter out the offensive ones. You can also choose to post on your private story, where you have full control over who views it.

Whether you want to delete old photos on your current account or create a totally new account with your pronouns and new name — it’s up to you.

Unfortunately, they’re out there. It’s important you block them immediately and don’t engage. If it starts to affect you, reach out to one of the support lines in our resources section.

You may get a ton of comments and DMs -–- both positive and negative. You don’t have to respond or be someone’s “Trans 101” teacher.

    REMINDER:

You & your identity are valid. Always.

It’s easy to compare yourself to other trans people, but no one
came out “better” or is “more trans” than you.
